Indian Monsoon Malabar
Monsooned Malabar is a premium specialty coffee grown at 3,000 to 6,000 feet. These pale gold, significantly larger, arabica beans are named for the region's monsoons, which contribute to the beans' high moisture content. To create a 'monsooned' crop, the coffee is spread over a large area and raked repeatedly while moisture laden winds blow over the crop. In this 12-16 week process, the beans absorb moisture, change color from bright green to pale gold, and shed their new crop acidity. The result is a soft, mellow, earthy and full-bodied coffee. Roasted to a classic full city.
